God of war is at the same cross roads that reaident evil was after code veronica/0.
The mechanics and gameplay have become stale,and no matter how pretty you make it,people have become bored of it and are moving on. What was once god of war
has become god of war

Just like resident evil 4 shook up the franchise and hit it out of the park,so needs to happen with god of war 4. They need to evolve or die.
If its just the same ole god of war its going to bomb.

I think the case of God of War geting stale was due to the reception of God of War Ascension. That one was kinda meh. They better pull a ND and surprise us because it was just like that with UC. " because of UC3 being so similar to UC2 while not being really better and then we saw UC4 at PSX and we(well I can say me) were blown away. Gameplay, graphics and the flow of the gameplay looked leagues ahead of UC3. The gameplay loop looks incredible.Now for God of War 4, idk but I think a whole new setting and a next gen leap in graphics would wow people.

Studios really need to stop watering down their franchise with this awful "presequel" and add on games. I think Gears and GOW are suffering from fatigue. Same with The last batman and Halo.
No it wasnt. The 2 handheld games were made by ready at dawn,the studio that made the order 1886. Ascension was made by the same studio as 1-3

Stop it. GoW still has plenty of life in it. GoW 3 was praised greatly. Ascension was ass but we all know that was just a cheap cash grab.
If GoW 4 comes and flop then yea i'll agree the series is dead. But GoW 4 has to come first.
It has life IF they completely revamp it.
If its the same exact gameplay still stuck in the ps2 days and hasnt evolved its going to flop.
