Fox bout to fukk up another Marvel propertyFox Confirms "Gambit" Solo Film Starring Channing Tatum; Character Rumored To Appear In 'X-Men: Apocalypse'
Fox shocked audiences by announcing that another character from the "X-Men" series would be getting a solo outing. In a head turning reveal, the studio announced that Channing Tatum would be appearing as "Gambit" in 2016.
Tatum, shortly after being officially casted made a statement about his Cajun character.
"He was the punk rock of all the superheroes," the actor told Empire Online. "Gambit was always like the woman-loving, cigarette-smoking, drinking guy," adding, "he's a thief."
"Gambit," real name Remy LaBeau, was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Jim Lee. The character debuted in Uncanny X-Men Annual #14 in 1990.
HIs powers include the ability to manipulate kinetic energy, transffering it to objects he can throw.
Many speculate that the character might still make an appearance in "X-Men: Apocalypse" despite his late arrival.
While new characters are added expanding the "X-Men" franchise, a number of actors announcing that "Apocalypse" would be their last in the series.
Hugh Jackman, the actor who plays "Wolverine," teased on his Twitter about playing the character for "one last time."
Additionally,Jennifer Lawrence, who plays young Mystique, confirms that the latest installment is her last movie. Nicholas Hoult, known as Beast in the series, reveals that "Apocalypse" is the last movie in his contract.
According to writer Simon Kinberg, the relationship between Beast and Mystique will be explored in the upcoming film.
