i was very young in the late 70's but i clearly remember how crazy the bronx was in the 80's and early 90's.
the south bronx literally looked like it had been bombed.

i can't really talk about other boroughs from experience but i have a friend who grew up in the LES and he told me that shyt was pretty crazy.
there was a tent city there of homeless people that the city eventually bulldozed.
