I got something of a Davis McAlary from Treme type fascination with the New Orleans rap scene from the early to late 90's...and I stumbled upon this site the other day named "Where They At: New Orleans Rap and Bounce in Words and Pictures" ...they have dope lil write-ups for a bunch of artists from that scene along with excerpts of audio interviews they did with them...i reccommend checking it out for anybody that's a fan of NO rap

Here's one of the clips from a rapper named Dolamite from back then talking about the parties Cash Money used to throw back then

Reppin
The N.O
this needs to be sticky but n.o. rap influenced more than what people think and will never get credit for it

Tim Smooth definitely one of the most underrated N.O. rappers

I been bumping this dudes songs for half my life and didn't even know who homie was until today...this song was a fixture on early 90's Memphis Underground mixtapes...and was sampled to death by DJ Paul/Juicy J and a bunch of others.

This song too

That pre-No Limit/Cash Money era of N.O. rap is underrated for it's influence on Southern rap.
