Was living in South Carolina (Sumpter) at the time, didn't like the song (Still don't) Jeezy is one rapper I never understood the hype for.

TM101 had the entire summer '05 on lock. Heard it first on the Trap or Die mixtape that was circulating before the album dropped. I was living in Detroit at the time and this album was the only thing we played for like 6 straight months.

I can't remember and album having such a chokehold on the game since maybe The Chronic of Doggystyle, not even GRODT had this level of impact on the streets.

GRODT is def up there, but I put TM101 higher b/c GRODT had that pop factor whereas TM101 was just the streets that made it huge. There was no dre/em/pop radio push. Very little cross-over appeal. I remember going to the G-Unit concert at Comerica that summer, and we still played TM101 the entire time in the parking lot and the afterparty at St. Andrews they played So Icy on repeat for damn near the entire night :russ:

Was just getting back from Iraq on R&R. Stopped at the BP on Candler across from SW Dekalb Mall and remember hearing songs from that entire mixtape coming outta every car. Indian dude was trying to get me to buy it and decided “wtf not?” Had just got some 15s in the Expedition too. The intro made a nikka put the car in park and take a step outside.

I was at my cousin's house and we were listening to Trap Or Die. Several artists were making "Air Forces" songs after Nelly, but Jeezy's might be the hardest.
