They must not really want to get back into the ratings game:francis: Not that Stephen A Smith shyt.. Do it Letterman/Jay Leno style. Get a comedian that's knows his/her sports, an sports centric opening monologue, athlete/coach guests, house band, live audience.. boom!!:whoo: They might fukk around and have something in a few months or so. There's an endless stream of material literally everyday. At 11pm we should be hearing Jimmy Butler/Wolves, Odell/Giants jokes not another Sportscenter. What are they waiting for?Who's in charge of that network these days:patrice:

Get back into the ratings game?

PTI is the highest rated sports show on TV
First Take still dominates in the AM
And ESPN still dominates every sports channel by far, they quadruple FS1 in ratings

Use Alt-Right/MAGA talking points brehs

That's not saying much considering its really just espn vs Fox Sports and to a smaller degree the NFL, MLB, NBA networks.

Simple.

1. It's a news station first. Even networks show the news before they have talk shows.

2. ABC already has Jimmy Kimmel. That's where they send their sports related guests if they do it at all (also, it would be a major pain in the ass to get athlete guests on the couch nightly. It's not practical. Most nights would just be the host trying to talk to someone via satellite, which doesn't work on late night talk shows.

3. (and this is a major one). They'd preempt the shyt outta that show every night. You can't do doubleheaders at night AND have a talk show. If a game runs too long, it's gonna get preempted.

4. Lastly, that shyt is expensive to produce.

EDIT: Almost forgot: talk shows aren't live.

Because even Stephen A. needs to sleep and we all know he’s the one they’d force to host it.

They got SVP on late night SC, and Katie Nolan has a late night show on ESPN+. Also, late night TV is dying.

Aggree OP, ESPN should have a full late night show or, as I’ve said for years, something equivalent to meshing the view with best damn sports show. 4-5 talking heads followed by guests from all facets of sports (agents, players, coaches, owners, journalists, apparel companies, etc) and a musical guest. They need to mix it up something fierce, get up is straight :snooze: even with the changes

It’s not a news stations first, the first letter is E for entertainment, news isn’t even the N, it’s the etenrtainment sports programming network. They have ESPN news for news

And who cares about production, a network like them trying to find strong programming outside of live sports needs to try something different

You clearly haven’t watched ESPNEWS in a long time.

And who cares about production
Companies who hemorrhage money
