Which "classics" are you hearing for the first time this year?

In 2012, I've discovered Red Man's "Muddy Waters," "Dare iz a Darkside," Pete Rock & CL Smooth's "The Main Ingredient", Busta Rhymes "E.L.E.," and Ice Cube's "The Predator."

Bought "It takes a nation of millions..." a few weeks back, but I haven't given it a good listen.


Seems like I discover great hip hop albums every year.


What classics have you all discovered just this year?

No one here's gonna admit to not having heard classics. Everyone tries to play themselves off as a head. I've never got into Brand Nubian, planning on going through their discography.

Dare iz a darkside Noorotic is my shyt. Every beat on that album thumps.

Wouldnt call the others classics though. Main Ingredient perhaps.

I have no clue if these are widely accepted classics but they were recommended by an old head at my job. I copped them a little over a month ago and all 3 were pretty good
