I think it's a reasonable comparison because most of the nation does not pay attention to any of these until the playoffs begin. They are very much regional sports where you care about your team maybe but will you watch a game between the Brewers and Reds in July? Probably not.
Out of the three, I prefer the NCAA regular season because of the rivalries and there are less games obviously. Plus, I'm biased anyway, Coach Ollie
and I prefer basketball as a sport..
But with all that said, I love baseball in October. It's intense. It's dramatic. Great theater. I might actually prefer it as an event to March Madness overall because the quality of play in college basketball has been mostly
for a while now. The coaching styles/systems have made the shyt damn near unwatchable, if it wasn't for UConn and filling out brackets I wouldn't care nearly as much.
I don't know much about hockey and won't pretend to but the Stanley Cup is a good event too.
For me it's probably March Madness but baseball in October is close and a better watch if your team is out of it.
