I'd say both extremes are destructive, however you can hate something righteously if you have suffered an injustice from somebody, group, government and etc. You can even hate losing which could benefit you as you'll strive to do better next to win.

I think greed is the stronger vice because it goes hand in hand with other vices like jealousy and hate. Just imagine being greedy on something you cant have but other people's have. you end up hating and being jealous on them.
