the thing easy. you could at least identify a xenomorph on look. the thing could be anyone. that, and if any of us has encountered a thing, its already too late for mankind since its probably spread ridiculously since
The Thing. You wouldn't even know you were in the same room with one of them before they kill you and start walking around with your face.

Plus if you react quick enough and lucky to kill it, the shyt bleed acid so you gotta watch out for that shyt too. shyt just seems like a big ass fukking mess to deal with in real life if you aint in space with suits and proper gear.

According to the newest version of the thing/prequel, you can tell who's the thing if the replica once had metal fillings/ earrings/ anything metallic in their body - as the thing cant replicate alloys. Tedious process and really only applies to small minority of people though. I agree, the thing monster would be
all around. Imagine if it landed anywhere else but Antartica

It depends on the environment, is the xenomorph just lose in your city or are you on a fukkin ship with one? Xenomorph is supposed to be the most evolved predator in the universe, not even getting into the fact that if there is one xenomorph that there might be a queen somewhere laying more eggs. The xenomorph seems more deadly on paper. But the thing is scary because it can be anything or anyone and could easily get the drop on you.
