Who had the best rise to the top? Not necessarily who made the most money or who started closest to the bottom. They all have a unique story that I respect. Some of them are even intertwined with each other as some work directly under others on this list. But it doesn't make their story less impressive.
After you explain your choice, make a top 5 list.

I think ja rule not shakin 50's hand that time they met, motivated 50 and fueled his fire. Add to the fact him gettin shot up by ppl affiliated w/ murder inc and bein left for dead, his story is movie worthy

I bet Ja Rule sits and thinks everyday "damn, I shoulda shook this nikka'z hand:to:"

50 because he came in the game dissing everyone, got blackballed, got shot up, which propelled the fukk outta his flow and cred, and still came back into the game the exact same way dissing everbody to making everyone have to side or collab with him that he dissed.

Russell is a strong number 2...there was no blueprint on how to create and expose an entirely new and revolutionary genre.

Jay followed very closely by 50 cent and Master P.I'll chose Jay though.

Jay,because even if you ignore the first 26 years of his life and forget that he's from Marcy and a former drug dealer, and you set the cut off mark as 1995, he went from being Big L's sidekick in a freestyle in 95 to co-starring in an hour long business interview with Warren Bufett. He has basically lived 2 different lifetimes in his music career alone: 1995-2003 and then everything after that.

50 cent, because this nikka was almost (literally) dead and buried, if he had stayed in the streets for another year or two he might have been killed. Eminem and Dre literally saved dude's life and what's more, he was able to make a couple of 100 million after all that.

Master P a close third, a nikka from the south that built his empire from one record store he setup in an era where music was still heavily dominated by the east and west.

I say master p he owned his own shyt and never compromised or took it in the ass. jayz is a close second but he did alot of people dirty on his way up. Then again I don't know p's career like that. in music biz if you can get to the top on your own terms can't beat that.

How Master P turned No Limit into a viable commodity is still perplexing :mindblown:

Because, No Limit artists were all niche New Orlean rappers, yet their music spread around the

country like wildfire. And, I feel he and Beats By The Pound opened the doors for Baby and

Manny to take the country by storm with the next NO sound :whew:
