:mindblown:

this is revisionist history.

3rd bass got more genuine love in hip-hop than Eminem.

as for the beastie boys; "licensed to ill" alone trumps Eminem's entire career.

It isn't revisionist history these dudes did not give a fukk about rap.

No it does not lol I hate when people say things like that. That's Backpack logic 101.

Comparing 3rd bass to Eminem is hilarious its your opinion so what ever. I've yet to see or hear anything about 3rd bass.

I've never liked serch anyways so posting some old video isn't going to sway my opinion.

Eminem would rap circles around Iron Solomons long last dad.

I'm not trying to sway your opinion of his skills. You said you never heard of anything of significance of them and they were not taken seriously:stopitslime: Not only was they instrumental in NaS career, search specifically helped NaS with his deal from Sony:aicmon:

Lol that video isn't of significance though. The only reason that video got the views it did was because of Nas.

I've never met a MC Serch fan in my life or a 3rd bass.

Whether they make good music or not is irrelevant in this context or if they have a place in today's hip hop. These guys were credible at the time and did pave the way for an artist like Eminem. Do you really think NaS would have put his reputation on the line at such a crucial stage in his career to work with a bunch of clowns:usure:

You can make the argument for Serch but in all honesty I respect your opinion though I really feel like it was eminem that paved the way for white rappers being credible.

I agree that em paved the way for new white artists but the success of the beastie boys,3 bass, and the Latino group cypress hill, paved the way for non black artists. It was their success that allowed others to take chances on non blacks like em,fat Joe,pun etc..in hopes they would be successful.

That nikka lumped search in with vanilla ice:russ:
Also this nikka em used to hate on every white rapper for years. H didn't pave the way for shyt. He was blocking them cause he seen them as competition. He even got in beefs over this subject

Uggh because their both white rappers I wasn't even basing it off skill. My whole point is that white rappers wouldn't of been taken seriously if it wasn't for Em. Quit trying to flip my post lol.

Nah not really. No disrespect to beastie boys but they were just riding the wave. They just happen to be in the right place at the right time, and they were originally a punk band. You never seen them ever giving rap props or doing anything with rap later on in their careers.

Eminem had skill to back it up..when eminem came out white rappers were seen as a joke. He made is possible for white rappers to be taken seriously. MC Serch, Vanilla ice, and Whitey Ford were one hit wonders that were just laughed at later on. Eminem is wayyyy more respected then those guys.

:laff:

:childplease:

Em is dope, but everything else you said is fan boy talk.......

:wow:

The naivete

Not its no. Your just taking it that way since i'm not sitting here dikkriding some white rappers that weren't even that great to begin with. What album after license to ill was worth listening to. They saw a genre being created and hopped on the wagon. They were a punk band these guys had little to no association with rap after the 80's.
