For reference, Right now the teams with the 5 worst records are Washington, Detroit, Portland, Charlotte, and San Antonio. The spurs would obviously not be a choice here though because they have a generational talent who will be a top 3 player in his prime, something the other bad teams can’t say

In sports being the last placed team in the league ain't the worst position to be in. You get hella top 5 picks year after year until eventually you got potential. Look at the Timberwolves, cavs post LBJ, thunder after Russ, sixers "process" etc. none of these teams won shyt but they at least have promise and give their fans hope.

Then you have my Bulls :beli:these nikkas win just enough to ensure they stay perennially sorry, never get high picks and even when they do draft right they fumble the bag, last legit all star we groomed was Jimmy Butler, our "star" point guard aint scored a point since nikkas stopped wearing masks, I mean this shyt is tragic out here my guy. I wouldn't even wish this shyt on a Celtics fan, we are ASS and at this point I'm convinced the Jordan curse is real

Hawks - Trae seems to be on the way out and they aren't bad enough to get enough lottery balls for a top pick. The Murray trade was a bust.

Bulls - That surprise season a few years ago was a mirage. Injuries and aging stars have plagued this team. Another team that hasn't been bad enough to luck their way to a top pick

I'm going to throw a curveball and say Milwaukee.

They have an aging roster at multiple positions with no youth whatsoever nor control any of their assets in the future to get better and improve around Giannis. Even with the picks and assets that they'd get in return for Giannis, they still technically couldn't take since other teams control all of their picks.

At least some non-playoff teams mentioned still control their picks for the most part or have young players that they could use for trade bait.

Detroit, Portland and Charlotte have young players to build around

Washington is a dumpster fire, but they have a chance to pick at the top of the draft.

San Antonio already has Wemby, they shouldn't be rewarded with another pick at the top of the draft.

Aren't they first in the east? Bleakest future? Giannis just extended.

Look at the age of the roster around Giannis and they have maybe a 2 year window at the most and that's compounded by the fact now that Middleton can't stay healthy anymore.

Once that championship window closes, it's going to look ugly for that team as they're in cap hell, with no youth to replacement dudes on the roster and don't control their future picks to do it.

They're future looks bleak compared to other championship contenders in the league right now.

The Bulls would be a valid option in this thread IF Coby White wasn't having the season he's having now. Legit MIP candidate and an emerging star. Add in that Ayo Dosunmu is also taking a step, the Bulls starting backcourt over the next 3 seasons will make a combined 20M per year giving you crazy production on a discount.

Chicago doesn't have the brightest future but it's not as dark as it was looking through the 1st 20 games of the season.

That’s not a curveball, this is just a bad opinion.
