He was a 5 star recruit going into college. I see him on the Bulls or Warriors second unit.
That's kinda my point. He's been in college 5 years, lot of tape out on him. He can't really shoot, inconsistent at best defensively, questionable decision making on the court.

It's kinda like the Emoni Bates situation. Every single team in the NBA has a guy to take 20 shots a game already. No team is gonna let Love come in and chuck like he did in college. He's gonna have to totally revamp his game to get in the league. More likely - he'll be another Alonzo Trier, putting up buckets in the G-League

That star shyt is wild..
It's RARE 5 star kids end up 5 star pros

He was a top high school talent he had some good years at Carolina. I’m going to be honest I think he stayed in college too long. I understand the NIL deal and he getting a degree but I think he should’ve left after UNC lost to Kansas in the championship.

He stayed in college too long but he had a good career. His jump shot is inconsistent but you can work on that in the summer and come back a sharp shooter. I see him going late first early second round. He would be a good pick up for any team to come in the on the second unit bring some energy. He not going to the G league he NBA bound.

He’s not making the league imo. Should be a good overseas guard though.
Alonzo Trier. That's the comp. Ball dominant scoring guard with marginal secondary NBA skills and a shaky BB IQ. Both of them even played at Arizona

He's gonna have to completely revamp how he plays to crack an NBA rotation on a team that's actually looking to win games

This doesn’t really make sense. There are like 20 to 30 5 stars every year. You think there are 20 to 30 dudes coming into the league on some Melo, Bron and Wade shyt every year? 5 stars is gauge and of where you are a projection of your pro potential. The vast majority of people drafted were 5 stars or high 4 stars. The exceptions are dudes who went under the radar because they weren’t heavily scouted or were late bloomers athletically. Go look at the 247 sports 5 star players over the past 5 years, they make up the majority of NBA players drafted (excluding foreign players).

As the 2025 NBA Draft approaches, Arizona Wildcats’ standout Caleb Love finds himself at a pivotal crossroads. After withdrawing from last year’s draft to return for his senior season, the dynamic guard has leveraged his final collegiate campaign to showcase his scoring prowess and leadership abilities on the national stage
With impressive career credentials spanning North Carolina and Arizona, Love has established himself as a clutch performer with NBA-ready offensive skills.

Five Potential Landing Spots

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls, holding the 35th pick, could view Love as the perfect scoring spark for their second unit. His ability to create his own shot and perform in pressure situations aligns with Chicago’s need for offensive firepower off the bench.

San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio’s developmental philosophy makes them an intriguing destination at pick 38. Coach Popovich’s system could refine Love’s decision-making while maximizing his scoring instincts and basketball IQ in a structured environment focused on long-term growth.

New York Knicks

New York’s 42nd pick could land them a guard already proven in high-pressure moments. Love’s fearless shooting and scoring mentality would add depth to the Knicks’ backcourt rotation while providing crucial bench scoring for their playoff aspirations.

Golden State Warriors
Golden State’s 44th selection might be the perfect landing spot for Love’s skillset. The Warriors’ motion offense values guards who can both shoot and facilitate — areas where Love has demonstrated capability throughout his collegiate career at North Carolina and Arizona.
