I get a sense that we often look at this "light skin privilege" as some sort of modern invention (I often here rappers rightfully getting flack for it), but honestly, looking through this account, it seems pretty obvious that this has always happened...might have been even worst back then. Lots of Rashida Jones and Alicia Keys lookin' types on these covers that maintain to be about "Negros".

Edit : Don't let that stop you from enjoying the history though. I love looking through old photos of us.

And a lot of them are Black, yall dudes is funny. Plenty of light skinned red bros and sis round here with black mothers and black fathers.
