LA Zoo Employee Hurt After Falling Into Gorilla Enclosure

A Los Angeles Zoo employee was injured Thursday after falling into the zoo’s gorilla enclosure, authorities said.

Fire crews responded to the park at 5333 West Zoo Drive around 8:30 a.m., according to LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart.

Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) members were assessing the situation and preparing necessary equipment to access the patient, Stewart said.

The victim’s condition was unknown. All animals were secured on scene.
