Folks got a new 4k tv and dropped dish for slingtv via roku. Now I have a ps4, we all have smartphones obviously. 2 of us have laptops. Then theirs occasional tablet and chromecast use from 2 others. Its only 4 of us but you know most of us like to multi task in general. Then you gotta factor in occasional guests which adds more smartphones and occasionally an additional laptop on the wifi.
We got a basic belkin router but its time to upgrade since youtube was lagging very bad for ma dukes last night. We'll also more likely get more rokus in the house too.

I was thinking of gettin an AC1750 dual band router
Asus - Wireless-AC Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router - Black

Or

NETGEAR - Wireless-AC1750 Dual-Band Gigabit Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch - Black

but I'm guessing a stronger one would be needed with all the factors? Would this one make ps now possible when others are using the wifi too?
NETGEAR - Nighthawk AC1900 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router - Black

The house is a 3 bedroom one story btw.

This is the strongest one i believe
NETGEAR - Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router - Black

Would it be overkill/bottle necking when theirs no guests? Would i need this to make ps now possible without an ethernet cable hooked to the ps4?

Willing to rep the first individual to breakdown nicely. I got work soon so dont trip if i take long please.

Do you need a new router? I have a 2 story house with 4 bedrooms and a TON of electronics on my wifi and I have no issues at all with my Verizon Quantum Gateway router.
The Netgear Nighthawk routers are great if you HAVE to upgrade but again, I would make sure your problem is the actual router first before spending money.
Go through basic trouble shooting. Is your network secure? Is your router placed in an optimal location? Would powerline adapters work better in your situation?
In a 1 story home you might be better off using powerline adapters. As for PSnow streaming, I haven't used it, but I would imagine that being wired is going to be your best bet.

:skip:Yeah....it might be time. Still. If gaming is important to you look at some power line adapters.
Well ps now isnt too important but if a good attena based wireless router can do a good enough job I'd be happy. Im more concerned of the household being able to stream and surf nicely. My internet is good but i can give speeds and any other needed info later.

Love my netgear, they last about 5 - 8 years for me with heavy usage before the antenna burnout.

those routers are garbage. get yourself a dedicated router, access points and switch. i recommend ubiquity

Which one should i get?
I have one that is below the lowest one you posted, the AC1600 I like it very much, get the one you want in your budget. There is no magic right one, a lot of it is going to be what you are comfortable with or prefer at a certain point.
