I'm going to need new tires before winter hits.
Is it best to get all season tires?

Discount tires is the only place you should be buying tires at
I need tires too but I'm getting rid of my car in the next month
from what I read, if you live in a snowy area, get snow tires
I think Im going to get snow tires for the first time this year
I have a new car and its four wheel drive (first four wheel drive Ive ever bought). Im petrified to drive in snow.. bad experiences man
Supposedly the compound in snow tires weaken and don't last as long if you run them year round. It's always best to swap them out during the warmer seasons. That's where I got my last set, when I was living in Indiana. But I live in the DC area now. There isn't a discount tire anywhere in Virginia or Maryland.
The nearest one is in Raleigh, NC. I do have family in North Carolina that I plan on visiting come Christmas, but I'm hoping the snow doesn't hit by then...it probably won't so maybe I'll wait.
Growing up in Alaska and living in Indiana I'm used to snow. So the snow that DC gets isn't too bad for me. I know how to drive in it.
I have never had snow tires. How well do they work during the rest of the year? I'm not going to be switching tires back and forth.
Seems like a hassle. I live in an apartment so I don't have my own garage to store my tires. Looks like I'll get some all-season tires.Supposedly the compound in snow tires weaken and don't last as long if you run them year round. It's always best to swap them out during the warmer seasons.
Some people have two or more sets of wheels with different tires for each season and you can swap them on/off the car as you need.
And other people just pay to have their only set of wheels balanced and mounted as the seasons change.
I'm in the DC area. No Mavis tire here.If you're out east, Either Mavis, or Costco.

I have heard other say Costco. But I believe I need a Costco membership to get their tires. And I'm single and live alone in a small one bedroom...so I don't have any need to buy in bulk.
