But we’re just making it up in our heads
I used to work in Bridgewater, and dated a girl from the area. It’s mostly white, but there are enough black people around that you don’t stand out. One day, an old white lady thought I worked at Macys, and asked me something from behind. When I turned around, she saw me and went:
“Oh I’m sorry, I thought you were the other colored boy. I was looking for him, he was very helpful. I’m sorry.”
This was before I was woke (the actually meaning of woke) and I just ignored her.
