i'm saying.... HBCU's treat their football programs like band geeks..nikkas will brag about they band all day long, but act like the football team being awful a fukk is just a technicality on some Bring It On type shyt.
How much people care about sports at a school is usually related to how good they have been historically and/or how much money is brought into the school by the program, which is why some PWIs worship their baseball, volleyball and golf teams when most other schools don't care at all about their's.

HBCU athletics will probably never get on the same level as PWI programs because they are generally Div. 2 programs and will never make any real money... which is why they volunteer to get slaughtered by D1 programs for a $300k check.

Band programs have historically been good at HBCUs because you dont need freak talent to be valuable contributor, there is no real benefit to going to a PWI over an HBCU for band if that's your "thing," and all you need to march in a band is a little ability, an instrument and $300 band fee, at the most... and that's if they didn't give you a few thousand dollars a year to march anyway.

Damn i was there too, was everyone in the A at that shyt that year?

Man Tom Joyner dont know what the hell he talking about. Them PWI bands play the same songs over and over and over all game long, the same songs they been playing for 50 years. How many times do you need to hear Rocky Top or I Been Working On The Railroad during one game? And he complaining about hearing Neck once a game? Really?

I was in the band back when Morris Brown was still around and it was seen as a crime if you repeated a song during a game. These white bands are out here playing the same shyt over and over and then have the nerve to have the music on a lyre. Naw, we had to have every song we played memorized and then be able to play it while dancing at the same time.

As a former high school and college band member... HBCU bands have "books" that have 30-40 arrangements in them and sometimes more. And they're all memorized. No music stands on their instruments like a lot of PWI bands... and you're right... repeating a song is like a sin in the HBCU band world unless you're battling with the same song against another band and your trying to prove you can play it louder, lol

And some HBCUs do a different show every home game...
