i dont believe that is what a prosecutor will charge. the motive, at least to the extent that it is self evident, is random insane vagrant behavior. i have never seen people like this treated like attempted murderers before.
Do you want people like that on the streets.
We're not talking about knocking someone out in an argument or to get your next meal (or even PS5).
We're talking about hitting a complete stranger with a weapon, with no provocation.
We shouldn't have to wait until someone dies to remove the threat.
i dont want him free, i was just commenting that i dont believe the law will prosecute him to the extent that he gets decades for this. i think he will get an aggravated assault charge which has 20 as the max. he wasnt robbing the guy and he didnt double down on the beating so he probably wont get the max if he is not on supervised release or does not have a pattern of hitting people with sticks.
crazy people like this typically get multiple shorter stints in lock up until they are too old to act up. if i had it my way, the man would be in an asylum that was well regulated for life or until somebody could vouch for his mental stability.
