Not gonna feel bad for some racist cac who did some shyt to try and intimidate all the black people on campus. Joke or not fukk him. He probably won't serve a day in jail but a conviction would make his life that much more difficult.

At first I was gonna agree with those that said 11 years is too much but then when you take history into consideration 
let him rot. Saying it's excessive is basically assuming the noose is as far as it would go. Just had a man hanging from a tree a little over a week ago, who's to say that the noose and the man hanging isn't the sign of something new? The history of Mississippi dictates that 11 year sentence, plus as a college student he should know better.
