President Trump will host a UFC fight at the White House as part of celebrations marking the 250 years since the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, he announced during a Thursday rally in Iowa.
"Every one of our national park battlefields and historic sites are going to have special events in honor of 'America250' and I even think we're going to have a UFC fight," Trump said on the eve of the July 4th holiday during a speech at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Trump said Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White was going to organize the event.
It's going to be a "championship fight, full fight, like 20,000 to 25,000 people and we're going to do that as part of '250' also," Trump said.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump is "dead serious" about the UFC fight plans, per a White House pool report.
