this is why education on racism in america is important. people really don't have a sense of what's offensive anymore because they don't understand history and because they haven't been educated on these things. mlk is not some sort of fictional cartoon character like a clown or a power ranger. it's like someone going to the school with a swastika somewhere on their person because they want to talk about germany during world war ii...

it clearly wasnt intended to be racist, lil homie in 2nd grade you think he understands the significance of blackface? :laff:

he was bigging black folks up he just did it in a goofy hillbilly way

I agree, but his parents should've known better...You know they was dressing him up with the :lolbron: on they face

i'm more ashamed of his parents, not him. he doesn't know. but at this point, the way his parents are coddling him, all this episode is probably going to do is confuse him even more. the parents probably didn't even take the time to educate him on why it could even be viewed as an offensive act. i find that even more disgusting simply because they're choosing to ignore the facts and instead say to themselves "we don't find it offensive, so neither should you" when whether or not they find it offensive doesn't matter...

maybe his parents dont understand the significance of blackface either..i dont think anyone really gives a shyt about it in modern society unless it turns up in news stories like this

and most of the time it's accidental, not intentionally racist....if white people cant put some brown face paint on their faces in 2012 without being deemed a racist slavemaster honky cracker trying to degrade black folks...how are we making any progress from the days where they actually DID do it for that reason?

he's a 2nd grader in 2012, he was born in 2006 not 1906

smarten up

don't be stupid, his parents know why that could be offensive yet they let him walk in there in trivialize a matter that doesn't need to be trivialized when they could have educated him on the matter. this is what you're suppose to do when matters like this arise...
