In Houston, they have a Chinatown that is a like 7 mile long corridor. 75% Chinese owned businesses, 15% other Asian, 10% other businesses. They have every type of business imagined, including banks....lots of Chinese banks.

Bellaire/Gessner/Wilcrest/Beechnut wasn't like that back in the 90s' but I started noticing how they were buying up parts of Sharpstown especially after Auchan(spelled wrong I know) closed and Viet Hoa moved there. Vietnamese and Chinese have that corridor on lock. What's even more G is that they basically put up street signs in Vietnamese then dared muthafukkas to do something about

The wake up calls might be coming through HAPA males with white fathers. Someone described it as growing up expecting white privilege because your father gets it and your mother married for it (amd hates you for being a son instead of a daughter).. but not being able to deal when you are considered other due to your face instead of as white as you feel. This was after the Jap cop got convicted in Oklahoma for raping black women, and the Asian cop got thrown under the bus by his white partner and union in New York.

Thing is this area of Houston was mainly Hispanic/Black at the time and the land was ripe for the picking.
If we had our on economic structure, Alief could have definitely been a "Black Wallstreet".
But somehow they finessed it and never looked back. I can see that theory happening because I have Asians friends that have never experienced racism/bigotry and really think shyt is sweet out here.
