I peeped that whenever someone brings up a cac and hip hop in the same sentence, a lot of you just immediately denounce whatever point the aforementioned cac was trying to make. :ohhh:

For example, whenever threads about Complex or Pitchfork or shyt like that get made, the responses are that they are a bunch of white people so their opinion doesn't matter :russ:

Now don't get me wrong :whoa: I agree. They are a bunch of cacs with unimportant opinions when it comes to hip-hop but it got me thinking... Are there any white people whose opinions would be taken seriously by you guys?

I can't speak for everyone else, but in short...No. I didn't even know what pitchfork or complex was before I started lurking sohh/coli. And it seems like every time some pigmentally challenged person attempts to discus rap/hip-hop they always bring up eminem first and how he's the best to ever do it.

Edit: there was also one who's favorite group was wu tang, but he swore up n down that rza and gza was the same person...

I don't take any magazine or media outlets seriously when it comes to hip-hop opinions. The opinions I respect are of those who are knowledgeable about a lot of different hip-hop and have listened to a lot of different styles. It's okay to disagree about opinions but it's nice to see when people are versed enough to hold a logical discussion about a variety of hip-hop topics and questions. A lot of dudes in the booth display those qualities and most of us would be 1000% better at writing about hip-hop in these magazines and online news outlets.

Any white person that opens their ears to more than Eminem can talk about hip hop. And not only open their ears but appreciate the people who came before him and after. Basically, tired of fakkits comparing him the GOAT without looking around.

I don't specifically mean just sites and mags like complex and pitchfork. Just like any one cac in the world that has a good opinion on hip-hop. Not necessarily related to some website. You feel me?

Part of the reason why I made this thread. Why? When I saw him say that Kanye has been making the best music of the last 10 years...what credibility does he have to say something like that?

If he's a legit fan of hip hop or Kanye like anyone else he's entitled to his opinion. How much weight or credibility anyone else put into it doesn't really matter. If whites listen to the music like you and me they have right to an opinion. Doesn't mean you have agree or even care.

Minus the part abt booth posters, I agree. I don't know a name off top, but in my day to day life I've come across white MALES whose opinion on hip hop I could respect. As long as I can see you're knowledgable and logical, I try to be open (tho it's a struggle), especially since women's opinions of hip hop are just as easily dismissed.

A black guy who only listens to trap stars and Wayne isn't going to get a pass from me over a well versed white guy or black chick....sorry, I'll probably never take a white female opinion on hip hop seriously #FemaleToFemaleSexism :sadcam:

Well I see a lot of posters in the booth whom opinion I respect. Obviously remove the trolls and stans (except Nasir stans because thats only natural). I've actually been chillin with this girl (white) and she gets down with old school 90s hiphop. Not as much on today's stuff but she listens to Biggie, Pac, Nas, Wu, NWA, Snoop, Tribe, Rakim etc (you get the picture). And she also loves soul music, knew more about Bill Withers than I did :heh: You just have to take things on a case by case basis.
