I wouldn't say especially. That poor woman working 80 hours a week as a nurse isn't affluent, ... but yes, many women do this, from many cultures. It just hits the Nurse deeper in the pocketbook than Big Daddy's Little Girl using family inheritance to buy her kept man trinkets like a house on the beach or a CEO position in Big Daddy's company. The meaning of the gesture is the same. The men who take advantage of it are the same, too.
