Then it's probably just not for you. Hip-hop's had club/dance music since forever. Some things are headphone music. Some things are diverse dance floor music. :manny:

Flo Rida's not a great lyricist, but he has high-energy, fun-tempo, feel-good dance music & his records work great for pro/college sporting events & arenas. As much as people use the words "classic" & "timeless", dude's legitimately found a way to create "timeless" records because we'll probably be 40 years old hearing "Low" or "Good Feeling" at football games. :ld:

Dude's figured out how to make a blend of music that people from different ethnic backgrounds & musical tastes could get behind...and it just so happens that those people are from demographics that spend actual money ON music that they enjoy.

Hey, I liked a lot of commercial club records over the years. I'm just not feeling Flo. Its like no one cares about his lyrics and what he's saying. Nothing he says or raps about is interesting to me. I mean, when u listen to club music ur not really looking for deep lyricism but at least some lyrics that will catch ur attention or make u laugh.

Only thing that saves his music when it comes to club joints is his beats and his choruses. U could have any other rapper over his tracks and it would probably be a hit too.

He's not a lyricist though... :manny:

But his arrangements on his songs are very well put together... 2nd only to the CLUB GAWD Pitbull... :lawd:

A lot of people into Pop love his Singles so they buy them but even they know he's not an "artist" artist which is why he can sell 3 Million Single Downloads but less then 100k albums...

Different strokes for different folks... his fans probably would kill themselves if they had to sit through a Nas album & vice versa... :ld:

the thing with pitbull is that cat can actually spit and is nice with it..freestyle his ass off too...he's one of those rappers that actually had to switch to the reggaeton/club songs in order to blow up which he did

Yeah, that's true. I don't f*ck with Pitbull's music either tho. I guess its good for the clubs but I'm not a fan most of the time.

This joint was hot tho:

I watch Pitbull videos for the women more than anything :scheme:

True but Flo-Rida is very skilled at what he does...

I guess since I work in the industry I've heard tons of wannabe Pitbull & Flo-Rida clones that sound ridiculously bad... it does take skill to pull off what they do. To have the kind of arrangements, breath control, presence & vocal characteristics they have does take talent. People think it's easy but couldn't replicate it if there life was on the line...

What do u do in the industry? Just curious to know, I've always thought a job in the music/entertainment industry could be fun.

And yeah, I wouldn't go as far to say that Flo Rida has no talent, I just don't find him or his music interesting.

i have no problem with flo-rida seeing that they dont try to market him as a hip-hop artist. all that flo-rida, black eyed peas, pitbull chit, as long as its not getting passed off as hip-hop, i have no problem with it. they make party music for white people, and as long as their music is seen as just that, more power to them.

and flo-rida is actually nice. he can rap cirles around alot of the rappers that get gassed up on this board.

He IS a hip-hop artist.

thats what you don't get.

Dude is RAPPING on tracks.

Not all hip-hop has dingy beats and gangster tales.

the only thing hip-hop about his music is the fact that he raps.

it has nothing to do with his content. lol.

im sure this dude has won awards. how many times has he been nominated for a rap/hip-hop award. hes gotten countless spins. how many of those are on the str8 urban stations?

i mean sure, he is apart of hip-hop. but hes far off in the pop lane to the point where even the least knowledgable old white folks know not to categorize him as a rap artist.
