Trade Julius for Siakam imo, much better defender. Julius defense is the most stunning thing, dude offers no resistance or rim protection. Siakam is an excellent defender, NBA Champion as a 2nd option, better scorer by a lil imo, same age and is typically good in the playoffs offensively sans the bubble. Also Siakam can actually pass out of a double team

Thibs :camby:

Starters -

Randle - hit the bricks; get traded motherfukker
Mitch - trade if possible
RJ - move him to the bench where he would have more value because trading both him and Randle seems unlikely
Grimes and Brunson are the only starters safe.

Bench -

IQ - I would keep but if you can get someone of equal value go for it.
Hart Foundation - keep both, yes J Hart was ass but definitely a needed piece during the regular season.
Obi - depends on the coaching situation really
Deuce - keep

And get shooters during the off season

Quick

Only players I'd really want back even if they all disappeared in the playoffs outside of Brunson
I actively want Randle, Barrett and Robinson off the team
And Thibs needs to go. That Summer League lineup he put up out there in the 2nd quarter destroyed them. I was screaming when they rolled that lineup out there. They literally scored no points

Thibs...gotta go. His lack of adjustments screwed the Knicks over.

Randle...gotta go. He doesn’t have the heart for the bright lights of this city or the playoffs.

Brunson...Give that man a well deserved month vacation.

Barrett...learn from this kid, and get better.

Obi...it was fun, brought excitement, but gotta go.

Mitch...put the damn phone down & hit up Olajuwon or Ewing for some inkling of a offensive game.

Hart...get in the gym & work on that shot.

Realistically we need shooting. we're an oddly assembled team that made it work, but we need floor spacers.

I think it comes down to trading one of the following three: RJ, Randle, or Mitchell Robinson.

RJ played fine all playoffs outside of that last game, I think he turned a corner and he's worth taking into next season, and this is coming from a guy who was unconvinced he was any good all season.

But Randle and Mitch got exposed heavy, and I think it's really one of these two that have to go. If we keep Randle we NEED a stretch five, there's no way around it. Towns and Porzingis can both probably be had pretty easily this offseason, and if we sign KP we can use Mitch in a trade to upgrade one of the other positions. I think Myles Turner can be had in a trade too if we push hard enough.

If we trade Randle....I don't know where we can find a clear upgrade at, which is why I think Robinson is the player who is least likely to be on the team next year.

I don't know how to gauge our season. I went into it thinking we wouldn't even be a playoff team, but then we make it all the way to the second round, and had some hope to make it to the conference finals. I'd say it was a success, but we got completely out schemed and outplayed at the end. We can't shoot, we relied on iso's and second chance opportunities for easy buckets all season and when the Heat took those away, Randle and Mitchell Robinson both looked pretty ineffective. I don't know what you do with these two tbh.

We overachieved, and I don't feel good about the Knicks replicating that next season, but I'll enjoy the season for what it was; We were fun to watch all season, and that's all I really ever asked for as a fan.
This loss hurts because Miami was such a beatable opponent. But in the grand scheme, I guess you can call this season somewhat of a success, making the 2nd round :beli:
