The other captain would catch it with 1 hand somewhere in the middle with the handle side up
Then the other captain would place his hand above the other guys hand
And they would take turns until someone reached the top
Their team would bat first

500 is 1 quarterback playing catch with at least 4 other people He calls out how much each catch is worth b4 he throws it . The first to 500 is the new qb
