I will use the word influence just to be on the safe side in case anyone gets offended, which is not my intention.

But I would like to know which country to ya'll think has the most "influence" on politics/policy and so on...on the U.S.?

I think it is probably Israel, especially now.
Before Trump every president had to show quite a bit of respect to Israel at AIPAC speeches, give loads of money to israel and pretty much ever speak against settlemets etc.., but at the least they were not for the move of the embassy to Jerusalem.
Trump was for it while still president-elect.

Israel leverages its position in a very narrow focus.

Russia just fukks with anything the USA does, domestically and foreign.

Theres no Israeli version of Russia Today.

The funny thing is that all the intrigue surrounding the Russia scandal, is that the only meetings and lobbying of a foreign government the media likes to mention is what has been done on the perceived behalf of Russia. Yet, Jared Kushner especially, lobbying on behalf of Israel is rarely mentioned.

So, is it really about "treason" and acting on behalf of a foreign government, or is it acting on behalf of a foreign government that not all our politicians are beholden to that is the issue?

to answer your question above its not so much about israels influence per se. they have a lot obviously but the main reasons things are what they are is because of the value israel has to american politicians. for republican politicians support of israel is crucially important for maintaining support from evangelicals and people who think theres a global cultural conflict between judeo-christian and muslim societies. for democratic politicians, many of them are concerned about driving away jewish supporters of the party by questioning israeli policy on anything (although this is getting more complex. liberal/left-wing jews are increasingly anti-israel). for democrats supporting israeli policy against palestinians is also an easy way to avoid criticism of being "soft" on foreign policy.
basically both the american populace and politicians are too invested in the concept of israel as the jewish peoples home to seriously challenge the state of israel.

The fukkin hurricane relief bill for texas had a provision that you cant support BDS or ever protest Isreal or you dont get hurricane releif money, Nobody is doing that for Russia.
