After awakening from his coma in 1984, Big Boss was reacquainted with fellow Patriot founder Ocelot, who took him toAfghanistan on a mission to rescue Miller, and suggested that he should rebuild his army. Big Boss succeeded in rescuing Miller, and the two vowed to have their revenge against Cipher for everything they had lost and rebuild, with Big Boss already declaring himself a fallen demon. It was during this time period that he reorganized what remained of MSF into a unit known as the Diamond Dogs, a group willing to perform unsavory jobs for whatever client needed it, expanding Big Boss' Outer Heaven concept from one which merely takes in soldiers without a homeland, to a full on infamous mercenary force.

The whole point is that regardless of what they did both Big Boss and Zero are a$$holes who took two totally opposite sides of the same ideal and STILL got it wrong.

BB wanted a world where a war was always needed in some way so the "soldier" was always needed and one could fight for their own ideals, or no ideals at all. Well that was dumb because that's anarchy not freedom. And people actually WANT ideals to fight for. And he's a dikk for accepting kids like Chico and Paz into MSF.

Zero wanted a world where control was paramount and information was the true warfare. Making it so the wars happened when THEY (the patriots) needed them to happen. Well, that's dumb because people want to feel like they are making their own choices and not being controlled. And those in the know would always fight against such control.

BB and Zero are both more wrong than they knew....Solid Snake is the true carrier of the Boss legacy. Fighting so those who can't or shouldn't don't need to.

Before I start, I've never played a metal gear game, even though I copped MGS4 in college day 1 and never played it. The info I do have comes from overhearing my college buddies talk about it a while back.



I just watched the 2 parts of the summary that was posted and I'm still kinda like


Who is solid snake and liquid snake or liquid ocelot, or old snake?

What is shadow Moses island, I still don't know exactly is a metal gear, who is the actual bad guy...it seems like both end games make no damn sense.


Metal gear 3 sounded pretty damn good tho that shyt might need a remake.


They never mentioned anything about mgs1, mgs2, or mgs4...are they canon?

I wanna be hyped for mgs5 but...

I just need to know what the hell I'm fighting for.

it is most convoluted without a doubt BUT somehow made playing the games better knowing whats what at the very least...
its a lot clearer tho if you can find a timeline like this

MGS2 is the reason the story is all fukked up. Every game since then has been an attempt to retcon that clusterfukk. That game is the gift that keeps on giving. They should have just claimed it was non-canon like Snake's Revenge.
