Who here already has the new Surface Pro 3 tablet/laptop?

I have one, I also have the Surface Pro 2. the 3 is way slimmer and lighter than the 2, but the bigger screen makes it hard to use as a real tablet.

It's not really a good laptop replacement, wish I had got a Thinkpad X1 for work.
Its' more a niche/specialty product, especially because the bigger screen makes it kinda unwieldy as a tablet.
If you work in design, digital art, engineering, it has some killer features that make it a worthy purchase, the screen resolution and aspect ratio make it great for reading comics in digital format, watching movies and stuff.

But as a laptop for school or something I wouldn't recommend it. If you're not a professional in one of the industries I mentioned earlier, it's basically a cool toy.

What the hell are you talking about? Why would you prefer the Thinkpad X1 over the Pro 3? I'm really confused here.

And this thing weighs no more than the OG ipad 1. If your trying to criticize it for being to heavy, your being extremely disingenuous. This thing is damn near weightless and extremely easy to carry around. Especially given the fact it is a FULLY functioning LAPTOP.

1300 when I bought it. i5, 256gig, hardrive, 4 gig of ram

Shyt runs smoothly. Hidef screen is probably the best on a modern devic, outside of Apple's 5K display. Its light weight and weighs a little over a pound. Battery lasts 8-9 hours.

The cheapest one has an i3 and less memory. But the more memory the better I always say. I think my model is the sweet spot between price and performance.

It's not heavy it's unwieldy as a tablet. 12.5 inch makes a big difference. Using the on screen keyboard is awkward and I"m 6'7 with big ass hands, I imagine it being damn near impossible for someone with smaller hands. The 10 inch screen on the Pro 2 was a much better for tablet usage.
The type cover keyboard/trackpad is usable, but it sucks compare the the keyboard on a Thinkpad X1 or MacBook.

Keyboard is one of the most important thing when it comes to getting work done, that why I end up having to go back to my desktop whenever I want to do real work.

I'm a bonafide Microsoft fanboy/evangelist, but I wouldn't talk about or recommend a product without mentioning the flaws.

It gets hot as hell sometimes
It can only take Microsd and not standard SD like most laptops
Type cover has moments when it stops working due to driver issues
Type cover is a mediocre keyboard
Small things like automatically stopping music when youtube video start, but not restarting music when the video stops.
Wifi is wonky at times.

These are all documented and common problems with the Pro 3, and I'm not saying it's a bad product, but it's still being perfected.

I've been recommending everybody that ask to wait for the Core M Surface, that'll probably arrive in a few months.

A bunch of Core M convertibles are starting to retail, the Pro 4 is right around the corner. I would wait and look at the options first.
