I went out there to play a few weeks ago and was pure trash at it. I can't lie though once I learn the game I'll probably stick with it. I'm to old to be playing basketball with these young boys.

Just wonder what are some other folks thoughts on the game of golf. The ones who play.

Taught & played golf for a long time. If you're serious I would suggest you get a set of used clubs or a $100 set from Wal Mart and work with a coach (PGA certified if possible). Golf is a great game & you can play it for the rest of your life, but it can also be expensive & time consuming. Get your fundamentals right early & then go from there. But if you're a beginner I'd say stay on the driving range until you can consistently hit the ball and drive it with accuracy

Just started playing this past summer, it was ugly at first but I started to get the hang of it. It seems very satisfying once you get the hang of it. As you said though, quite expensive.

I play.

Go get a few lessons just so you can learn the fundamentals. Or watch some YouTube videos (they'll basically teach you the same thing).

Getting lessons though will have someone give you feedback so that's an advantage.

Then hit the range and practice your swing.

It's an addictive sport, so be ready to spend $$$:mjcry:

GOAT status. Drinking, smoking, and gambling are all part of the game. Being away from your family and hanging with your boys for 4-5 hours is perfectly acceptable. And if you don’t wanna be a degenerate, you can walk 9 or 18 and it’s great exercise.

Haven’t played since I had my first kid a couple years ago. I bought a stroller attachment that holds clubs, but taking a baby on the course sounds miserable now
