2014 FIGHTER OF THE YEAR CANDIDATES

Miguel Cotto

Cotto's 2014: Defeated WBC and Ring Magazine Middleweight Champion Sergio Martinez in a one-sided affair that saw Martinez on the canvas 3 times before retiring on his stool before the start of the 10th round

Terence Crawford

Crawford's 2014: Crawford's impressive and busy year started with a flight to Scotland where he defeated native Scot Ricky Burns for the WBO Lightwight title; Crawford followed that up with a TKO win over heralded Cuban fighter Yuriorkis Gamboa; Crawford's year ended with a unanimous decision win over the tough veteran Raymundo Beltran.

Sergey Kovalev

Kovalev's 2014: Handed Cedric Agnew and Blake Caparello the first losses of their careers (both by knockouts) but his biggest win was his domination of future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins where Kovalev added Hopkins' WBA and IBF titles to his own WBO belt.

Floyd Mayweather

Mayweather's 2014: Handily won a two fight series against awkward and tough Argentinian Marcos Maidana

Gennady Golovkin

Golovkin's 2014: Put together a KO highlight reel...stopped Osumanu Adama in a stay busy title defense in February; obliterated former Middleweight champion Daniel Geale in July; and then easily beat Marco Antonio Rubio in a title unification bout.

Manny Pacquiao

Pacquiao's 2014: Avenged his disputed loss to Timothy Bradley and completely dominated Chris Algieri

Either Walters or Pac...

They both have the two best wins of the year...Walters best win was done in more emphatic fashion...while Pac's best win wasn't as clear...and Bradley & Donaire are more or less the same caliber of fighter...as is Algeri & an old Darchiniyan...So i guess i gotta go with Walters. Cotto or Crawford wouldn't be outrageous picks...them other dudes don't even deserve to be on the ballot.

Who did Wlad beat this year that was better than Burns, Gamboa, and Beltran?

shyt, who did Wlad beat that was better than Algieri. :mjlol:
Dude put all his belts up twice, but you're right they're trash.

Nobody really had an insane year. I'll need to spend time on this one.
