Who is your favorite Naruto villian and why?

Pain destroying Konoha was a huge moment for me, finally we had a villain who was about that action. Pain's beliefs played a heavy hand in his actions and although he was easily manipulated I felt it made his character more interesting.
Pain was largely a mystery before his encounter with Jiriaya and being the force that ended Jiriaya's run gave us a little insight into how much of a threat he posed. It wasn't until his assault on Konoha that I declared Pain not only my favorite Naruto villain but one of my favorite characters in all of fiction.
Seeing the Six Paths take out an entire Village was exciting and scary, watching some of the strongest the Leaf has to offer fall prey to Pain is one of my favorite moments in the series. Pain's ideology was alien, but logical and combined with his weak will, lack of conviction and god complex made him a complex character with many flaws, something a lot of characters in Naruto lack.
On the surface he's just a seriously badass character, taking out a Legendary Sannin and and destroying an entire village is nothing to scoff at. Being menacing and intimidating enough to keep all of Akatsuki in line, killing Kakashi "Copy Cat Ninja" Hatake, beating the breaks off of Naruto and sonning the Hokage in front of her entire village. Pain.




Short answer for my TLDR brehs: I like Pain.

My problem with a lot of Naruto "villains" is the fact that a lot of them aren't all that evil. A lot of them (ex. Pain) are just misguided dudes (with good intentions) who ended up going bad.

Orochimaru is unambiguously evil. He was the real deal. He's completely sadistic, twisted, disturbing, and scary. He experiments on people, uses people, and will even kill his own comrades for his own selfish purposes.

The battle Orochimaru had with the 3rd Hokage is up there in terms of some of my favorite Naruto battles.

Pein, only thing was this nikka got talk no jutsu'd from not going through with a plan he spent years on and was devoted to (to the point he killed his former master and was willing to revive Madara) and revived everyone he killed in the leaf . then he came bike edo'd and a Naruto dikk rider

Dude was loyal as fukk to his organization, one of the strongest Akatsuki members and was the only one down with the Project Tsukuyomi besides Madara and Obito.

Deidara just didn't give a fukk as long as he was blowing shyt up and showcasing his art.

He was a true ninja....not a samurai like everyone in the show.

used Haku as an expendable soldier, as he was even Haku admitted that much.

And ultimately went out in GOAT fashion by taking out 100 dudes with a kunari in his mouth.

It will probably be Kawaki but I'm pretty sure he'll turn into Boruto's Sasuke because anime always has a yin and yang element.
