They're better musicians and songwriters. You're confusing producing and making beats. Timbaland can make beats but some of his records be .

I mean it can be a fire beat but the song and overall record is uninspiring.

Pharrell/The Neptunes are hit and miss but it's down to not liking the record and not it being a beat and song mismatched.
