I dont think there has been such a pointedly socio-politically conscious record in mainstream radio rotation since. This song is about 10 years old. Let that sink in.

Imagine if Jay, Kanye or 1 of them made this exact same song. The powers that be would have made this huge. Rap song of the year at every award show.
i don't know, man. i see what you mean but kanye did make 'jesus walks' and he basically had to convince people that the record was good enough to put out. 'why' had a pretty big moment without the award shows. there were t-shirts and shyt. people also started asking why more.
