Is there a set formula for how the league orders a schedule like how they have a set formula to set up who each team plays?

yeah.

3 division rivals x 2 (home and away)
you face all the teams in one division in your conference. it goes on a rotation every 3 years. (2 at home, 2 away)
you face the team that finished in the same division rank as you from each of the other two divisions in your conference. ie. if you won your division, you face the division winners from the other two divisions in your conference. (1 at home, 1 away)
you face all the teams in one division not in your conference. it goes on a rotation every 4 years (2 at home, 2 away)

for the eagles this works out to be:

giants, redskins, cowboys x 2
falcons, panthers, @buccaneers, @saints
vikings, @rams
colts, texans, @titans, @jags

Vikings or Falcons since they are actually good teams... but the NFL will most likely put the trash ass cowboys in that slot vs us for the ratings.

lowkey i want the giants week 1 though :youngsabo:
