What I mean by layered is albums that have multiple meanings? I know you can say almost any album has multiple meanings. But I mean it in a sense like Lupe. People point to albums like The Cool, Tetsuo and Youth and To Pimp A Butterfly and talk about the multiple interpretations of various songs. (Again, don't take this to extreme. I talking about in specific sense). But who originally was the rapper that started writing albums like that back in the day. And who was the modern person that started it like what you expect from Lupe?
