IMO Lupe is corny and tries too hard. I give it to Common for the lyrics and Juice on the free-steezy tip.

Holy shyt, do we have people actually saying Lupe Fiasco is better than Common. I don't wanna diminish people's opinions but by no means should we take a rapper who has been in the game for less than a decade, to a rapper who has been in the game for 20 years. Common has put in work and has been repping Chitown on a more mainstream front now for a while now. I am a fan of Lupe and I still consider his 2nd album "The Cool" to be a classic, but Common's discography is so much stronger and impactful. 'I Used to Love HER' has over time educated those who were not around at the time about where Hip-Hop really was in the mid 90's.

As for the mention of Slug, I honestly forgot he was from Chigaco, despite completely lacking technical skills as an MC, he more than makes up for it in passion for the artform. artistry and subject matter. A lot of my favorite conceptual albums involve him and as a someone who has been on his stuff since the mid 90's. I'm glad to see him get some shine.

slug is not from chicago.

who is also better than lupe and an actualized grassroots draw.

who earned a p&d major label business liason.

from the largest grassroots underground drawing group atmosphere.
