I live and work in Orange County, CA. I’m very close to the airport and am regularly among tons of people from China and other infected countries. So many people in the area have been traveling extensively for Chinese New Year and other stuff and had been coming in and out with no scrutiny before any travel bans started.

I got sick in early Feb with something I’ve never had before and am hearing about more and more people in my area who got sick in recent months who were diagnosed with colds, flus, etc.

Until last week, the media had pumped out info that you really weren’t at risk for the Rona unless you had been overseas or were very close to someone who had. Now that we know that isn’t the case, how many of us can assume we already had this? How many of us are those asymptomatic people who feel no effects?

It seems weird that this isn’t really being talked about :patrice: Is it not being considered or do we just not want people to let their guard down?

I've read reports saying the majority of cases exhibit mild symptoms on their way to recovery. And those are the ones that were tested. It could very well be a whole slew of folks that thought they had the flu/fever that are unaccounted for. We won't know...

I normally catch a cold or two in the winter, but I too was sick with something new to me in February. I was bed ridden for close to three days, high temperature, extremely lethargic, could barely open my eyes at times. No cough, or breathing issues though. And no other members of my household have been sick since...

I was sick about two weeks ago. Headaches, coughs, asthma reoccurrence. But no fever or sore throat. So I doubt I had it.

Besides going to the gym until last week and going to work, I haven’t been interacting with many people. Have stayed home and gone shopping for my mom.

Driving to the store is like the only thing I’m doing.

I got pretty sick a couple months ago; felt different than anything I'd had in the past. My symptoms didn't quite match up with what they're saying COVID-19 is though. My nose was extremely runny for two weeks but I never had a fever and I didn't have difficulty breathing.

Someone told me a similar story, that they, about a month ago, bad fever vomiting, like an extremely bad flu, his wife works in a hospital. She came home sick, and then he got it. Their daughter was a little off for a day, or two, but unaffected.

Week before last, I had slight runny nose for a few days, usually late afternoon, like a cold, and slightly irritated throat, like barely noticeable between my paranoia and actual scratchy throat. I doubt that was anything, but that's as close as I have come, so far

@skeetsinternal definitely got that shyt (if a fraction of what he post is true)

get tested breh
I have no symptoms left but I generally don’t feel the same as I did before. The rumors of decreased lung function are consistent with what I had.

I never would have been tested before because I didn’t have a fever, hadn’t traveled and didn’t have contact with any known cases.

My symptoms:
Breathing was a mess.
Lots of muffled noise during inhaling and exhaling and I was forced to take much shorter breaths than usual.
Coughing was useless.
Voice was terrible.
Even walking across a room would have me feeling like I just ran a mile

I figured it was a weird bronchitis or walking pneumonia that would go away on its own. After three weeks of no improvement, I scheduled a dr. appt. In the hours before my appt, my symptoms magically disappeared :francis:

The doctor couldn’t hear anything unusual when they listened and said it was likely bronchitis that I had recovered from. I’ve had bronchitis and this was different :dwillhuh:

your stars are but dust on my shoes
I got sick 4 times from November through February with cold symptoms. Congestion, thick phlegm, fatigue, body aches and sore throat. Never had any respiratory issues though. Each time, my recovery time improved, with the final bout lasting less than a week.

I typically catch a cold once or twice a year, so i was actually a little concerned about how frequently I was getting sick. I was going out a lot, but I was starting to think there was potentially something more serious going on, why was my body struggling to fight off the sickness?

There was one time where I felt like I was getting a fever, but when I checked my temperature I was at 98.6.

I live in the bay area, and really didn't start practicing social distancing until the week of February 20. Given how much I was going out on a daily basis, it might actually surprise me more if I was able to avoid the virus altogether.

As far as I know, no one I had close contact with has gotten sick.

So it's going to remain a mystery.
