If you're not familiar, netplay is just multiplayer with other people over the internet. I got this shyt set up with a group of friends, but I need more people to play against. We've gotten smooth, working netplay (2-4 players) with the following emulators and games:

Fightcade (arcade games):
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Street Fighter 3rd Strike
Darkstalkers 1 and 2
Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, X-Men vs SF, and MVC1 (all 3 rendered obsolete by MVC2 on Dreamcast)
Cybots
Emulator: https://www.fightcade.com/
Games: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B59BViRxkTN4VmZ2OWJJSktBTGM/view?usp=sharing
-Just add the all of the zip files from the games folder into the ROMs folder that came with Fightcade. Then enter a username and password (no registration required) and get on.
-To set your controls, go to the room for the game you'd like to play and you'll see a list of people currently in the room on the right hand side. Double click your name and the game will boot up for you in single player mode. Then just press Game -> Map game inputs and set your shyt accordingly
-Unlike other emulators, you'll need to manually configure your controls for each individual game rather than for the emulator as a whole.
-To challenge someone, just go into the room for the game you'd like to play and double click their name on the right instead of yours. The game should then start up for both of you.

Demul (Dreamcast):
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Capcom vs SNK 2
Emulator and games: https://www.mediafire.com/?6v6wd5qm23bhjq7 or https://mega.co.nz/#!WA9SQapZ!E4IUqyZV7eCOUc3MfB888X2J508KyxiAk3C2i2Zui2s
-Before trying this, close all open browser tabs and programs that you're not currently using or that you can re-open later. Demul tends to lag if you have too much other shyt running on your computer.
-Open Demul, when you open it for the first time it should ask you to set your plugins/ROMs/nvcram paths with their respective folders that came with Demul. Make sure the video plugin is gpuDX11 then press OK.
-Go to config -> controls -> arcade -> joy 1 and set your controls. Push 1 & 2 = Light and hard punch, Push 3 & 4 = Light and hard kick. Push 5 & 6 are for assists. Never used Push 7 & 8. The others are self explanatory.
-Go to file -> run Naomi/Naomi2 and select the game you want to play from the list (for now just choose mvsc2 or cvs2gd)
-Give it a few seconds to boot up, close the netplay window that opens and let the game run on your computer. Make sure it runs smoothly at 55-60 GPU. If it doesn't run smoothly in single player it won't work for netplay.
-Do note that some weaker computers won't be able to run this emulator smoothly at all. In this case you'll need to either get an external video card or a better computer to play this.

Dolphin (Gamecube and Wii):
Super Smash Bros Melee
Soul Calibur 2
Mario Kart Double Dash
Emulator: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/ (be sure to scroll down to the stable versions and choose the latest release for your machine, don't get the development versions on top)
Games: http://www.emuparadise.me/Nintendo_Gamecube_ISOs/Super_Smash_Brothers_Melee/66416
http://www.emuparadise.me/Nintendo_Gamecube_ISOs/Soul_Calibur_2_PROPER/66364
http://www.emuparadise.me/Nintendo_Gamecube_ISOs/Mario_Kart_Double_Dash/66677
-Before trying this, close all open browser tabs and programs that you're not currently using or that you can re-open later. Dolphin tends to lag if you have too much other shyt running on your computer.
-Create a new folder inside of the Dolphin folder titled ROMs, Games or whatever the fukk you'd like to call it. Put all of your downloaded games in here.
-Open Dolphin, go to Options -> Gamecube Pad Settings and configure your controls.
-Now go to Options -> Graphic Settings and assure that Basic is set to Direct3D11.
-Now go back to the main Dolphin screen and click the area right under Open/Refresh/Browse, choose the folder with all of the games inside of it and they should now show up on the menu. (This can also be done through Options -> Configure -> Paths -> ISO Directories -> Add)
-Click one of the games and it should open up and start playing. Assure that it's running smoothly at 55-60 GPU. If it doesn't run smoothly in single player it won't work for netplay.
-Do note that some weaker computers won't be able to run this emulator smoothly at all. In this case you'll need to either get an external video card or a better computer to play this.

SNES9k:
Super Mario Kart
Donkey Kong Country
Contra 3
TMNT 4

Mupen64 (Nintendo 64):
Mario Kart 64
Super Smash Bros
Mario Party 2
I still haven't tested out Goldeneye/Perfect Dark/WCW-NWO Revenge/Wrestlemania 2000/WWF No Mercy but I'm hoping these work

If you're interested drop a post in here and I'll link the downloads, this shyt's fairly simple to set up on all emulators. All of these can be played with a console controller or joystick, you'll just need a USB adaptor to plug into the computer.

Future netplay possibilities:
ePSXe (PS1): gonna try this out with Tekken 3 in the near future and see how it turns out
Gens (Sega Genesis): gonna try this out somewhere down the line with Streets of Rage and Mortal Kombat 2 and 3
Mortal Kombat Project Online: a program designed specifically to netplay MK 1-4 against other people online. Mortal Kombat netplay hasn't been successful on either SNES or N64, so I'll likely try this if it doesn't work on Gens either.

Don't be a p*ssy, come see me in MVC2 and Soul Calibur 2.

Is this like MAME?

yea, except there is an emulator for each console that allows you to connect to other peoples ip and play over the net.

I don't play fighting games on emulators like that but I always wanted to make a thread like this.

The shyt you can do on a decent gaming pc with these emulators :ohlawd:

I mess with old console emulators heavy, but fighting games, y'all can have that... for now.

Not to mention those emulators, i've used zsnes with no lag, kega w no lag, nestopia with minor lag.

I'm game with everything else though.
