Because female hip hop got boring & everybodies favorite female rappers from that era (salt n pepa, yo yo, mc lyte, queen etc) all became womens rights activists in their songs stop trying to outrap nikkas & started trying to preach to them or making songs about being in love or their love for men
Lil kim, mia x, lauryn, fox, da brat etc brought the essence back & was trying to outrap nikkas & nicki kept it going & still is
