The woman on "Reminder" isn't a known singer. She was working with Timbaland's camp at the time. I can't remember her name. All I remember thinking is she sounded like those Mindless Behavior kids.

I don't think BP3 is overrated, but it's not a trash album. A trash album to me has no redeemable qualities. BP3 still has these:

What We Talkin Bout
Thank You
Real As It Gets
Already Home
Venus Vs. Mars
So Ambitious
Reminder (always liked this minus the hook)

The singles were cool too except for "Young Forever". "Young Forever" will always be corny, background skin care commercial music. The other singles were overplayed, but I don't really have any problems with them.

BP3 is still a bottom tier Jay Z album overall though.

My list is almost exactly the same, except I would add "A Star is Born." Always felt like the album needed some tracks shaved off.

It's crazy this thread was made because I was listening to "Reminder" tonight. I know that song is seen as one of the worst on the album, but I can't deny how much I love it, including the hook. :wow:

BP3 is wild trash and was wild trash at the time.

Could have told you the day it released that it would age like shyt.

Only song that aged well is ambition but it was a poor shot at jay n pharrell tryna recreate their magic.
What does this even mean. This that Pitchfork :mjpls:way of critiquing music where you not even talking about the actual song, instead talking about some other aspect. “Trying to recreate their magic”. You mean …making a new song? It doesn’t even sound like any other jay and Pharrell song. So ambitious is a classic

Not a good album….but I just remembered jay has 3 all-time level ‘let me address nggas’ songs/moments on this

Thank You:

the whole 9/11/brick/built a building/no mask/fumes “scheme” :banderas:

Already Home:

And really the fact is, we not in the same bracket, Not in the same league, don't shoot at the same baskets, Don't pay the same taxes, hang with the same bytches, So how am I in the way, what is it I'm missing :scusthov:

What we talkin bout:

Dame made millions, even Jaz made some scraps…
Grown men, want me to sit 'em on my lap
But I don't have a beard and Santa Claus ain't black
I repeat, you can't sit on my lap
I don't have a beard, now get off my sack—scream at me!
:damn:
