If we ain’t talking about Ye as an actual artist. Just was that nikka on The Roc. Really no disputing it.

That's where was coming from with it. It's like a spin off of The Blueprint thread on who was better but this time focusing on the whole Roc during that time where that were in a sense battling to see who was coming up with the hotter tracks for the crew

Did Black Moon accuse Just of stealing the beat?

Yea. I think Evil Dee said he stole that on purpose because of an issue he had with Duck Down mainly Buckshot over production on the BDI Thug album. I remember an article in XXL where Just said he would never work with Duck Down ever again and I guess his payback was taking that the shine of that record with PSA.

Also one thing I realized was throughout the recent chain of events from that Drink Champs interview while Ye and Bink may feel Just bit them the one thing that is for sure is he one up them by running his operation out of Bassline which was the Roc-A-Fella studio HQ. He was smart while I'm sure Ye and Bink may have recorded in other studios Just stay planted at Bassline day in and day out so anyone coming through had no choice but to hear what he was cooking and wanted. he knew everyone would come through there so we all heard the stories on how he was there all day all night whether producing, mixing, or mastering plus the mass unreleased catalog he has so it was kind of like he had first dibbs on everything and everyone during that time.

By the time Just started running Baseline, the label was pretty much broken up. This is after the heyday at the Roc. I used to spend a few nights a week at Baseline when Just was trying to launch his Fort Knocks label, and I was always there during the label's peak. Jay and Dame were broken up and Kanye was bringing in all the money with his albums, when Just owned it. When Hov owned it, that's when Kanye, Bink and Just were there all day, along with dudes like Lofey and Shim and all those classic albums were done. After that run, when things with the label slowed down, that's when you'd see cats like Saigon and Jay Electronica there all the time. Ms. Jade was there a lot too.

But during the label's heyday, Kanye was basically living there. Cooking up shyt for Common, himself, the label's artists, Ludacris, Brandy, The Game, Scarface, Alicia Keys, Twista, etc. He'd be there damn near every single day, it seemed. When Just bought it later on, the label was done, save for what Kanye was doing with his albums.
