let me Deepseek that for you

Here’s a list of teams that won the Super Bowl after having the best regular season record (or tied for the best record) since 2000:

  1. 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12-4) – Tied for best record
  2. 2003 New England Patriots (14-2) – Best record
  3. 2004 New England Patriots (14-2) – Best record
  4. 2013 Seattle Seahawks (13-3) – Tied for best record
  5. 2016 New England Patriots (14-2) – Best record
Notably, some teams with the best record failed to win the Super Bowl, like the 2007 Patriots (16-0) and 2015 Panthers (15-1).

Maybe the 2016 Patriots?
2004 Patriots? Though Pittsburgh beating them had some people viewing Pittsburgh as the best that year until the playoffs.
Otherwise the 1998 Broncos

They were actually underdogs in the Super Bowl at some outlets. Some had them as just 1 point favourites.
i read this and thought how could an undefeated team be an underdog or barely a favorite, so i looked it up.

the dolphins didn’t play a single team in the regular season that made the playoffs. i dont think thats even mathematically possible today :mjlol:

It's not, only because more teams make the playoffs now. 4 teams in a 13 team conference made the playoffs that year, only 30.77 percent.

3 division champs and a single wild card. You actually had to win your regular season games to have a shot.

Right now, it 7/16 in each conference. 43.75 percent of the league is in the playoffs.

I know both teams didn’t win the Superbowl, but it should have been the 1998 Vikings and the 2007 Patriots. Poor Randy Moss in both years was oh so close of getting a championship ring :to: :mjcry: Both stacked all time squads who failed to meet expectations and fell short of the ultimate prize despite their talent. Two Dream seasons who ended in nightmares.
