When i'd buy cds the first thing I'd do before popping it in or while listening to it was to read who did the beats, wrote the songs, produced the songs, mixed them, where it was mixed at, where it was recorded(lots of times industry songs are recorded and mixed in different studios)and who mastered it(Tony Dawsey mastered some of my favorite albums ever). Nowadays I think most songs are recorded and mixed in one location on the spot since we aren't dealing with 2 inch reels anymore
