I’d say this is a case of her just being stupid, not “insidious.” It’s also an example of how stupid a lot intersectional arguments are. Nazi ideology did not view the world from a perspective of whiteness or white supremacy. They viewed the world as separated by those who were Aryan - superior man, most intelligent, etc - and non-Aryans. Which included a whole lot of “white people” like Jews and Slavs (Russia).

Nazis literally believed Jews, black people, Slavs, and gypsies were subhuman compared to the euro centric Aryan race. So yes it was about race…just not race in the American sense (all white people on one side, all black people on another side, etc). Hell this is more like fantasy world concepts of race where you have humans as one race and elves as another race.

Really, it was ethnicity. Their group of white people were better than everyone else's group of white people. And they wanted to elevate themselves to "a race". No, I don't think she's stupid at all. I think she's not falling for the word games. Which is really smart of her.

German Jews were a thing. They spoke German, were born in and lived in Germany their whole lives, and by all accounts were German. The only difference is that they were Jewish. That's why names like Baumgartner, Kaizer, Silberstein, etc exist.

I think you missed the entire point of my post. Prior to enslaved Africans arriving in the west, they were often captives of a different tribe, today we would say both parties were Black but that erases all important context because the reality is that although the captives and the captors shared skin color, they did not see each other as "the same" because of that detail. Flattening differing groups of people into one category because they share one attribute, skin color in this case, is simply incorrect.

they certainly tried. but i think you miss my point; i think it's much easier to drop a religion and its associated culture than it is to drop your skin color. those runaway slaves were a product of race mixing and had the "luck" of white passing. jews in germany were already white passing. they looked like any other german, pole, and russian. let's face it, it was an ethnic conflict, not a racial one.
