Sixers announce Andrew Bynum will be held out of basketball activities for three weeks to maximize therapy on a right knee bone bruise.
Neither are as bad as people make them out to be...
A big reason why Bynum kept getting hurt was because he kept coming back too soon. The Sixers are smart to take much precaution though and not rush to just have him play in preseason games. This just just like Bynum getting the preventive treatment during the All Star game and people blowing it out of proportion. Bynum stayed healthy for an entire season where a bunch of other guys were going down with injuries.
As for Dwight, even WITH a bad back he was playing at high level. According to reports he got 85% of his strength back and will hopefully be ready to go opening night. His rehab has been going well and his people have been making it a point to strengthen his back to prevent another injury.
Bynum's first knee surgery was in middle school, it's as bad as it seems with him.

How is that funny though?
He's scheduled to receive a third opinion on his left knee Wednesday from the specialist that operated on the knee when he was 12 years old, and it's possible he could undergo another surgery. From the Los Angeles Times:
but yea his is def worse. But A back issue is nothing to play with, Ive been have back problems (due to not stretching, and going too hard too fast) whenever I do extensive running or sports for the past year and that shyt just doesnt go away.I'm not educated in this stuff...

Bynum because he's one more knee injury away from never being the same player again.
